ARIZONA'S BEST FISHING SPOTS
FROM METROPOLITAN PHOENIX TO ARIZONA'S BEST FISHING SPOT IN A FLASH
By Ken Liebeskind
Yalesville, Connecticut
A short 30-miles north of bustling Phoenix is one of the best places to fish in Arizona. Lake Pleasant was created in the 1920s, spans over 50 miles of shoreline and has become well known as one of Arizona's best fishing spots.
Lake Pleasant - which is technically a reservoir, not a lake - receives water from the Agua Fria River and canal water from the Central Arizona Project. Year-round, anglers boast trophy-size catches from boats or the shores of Lake Pleasant. A broad variety of fish that includes largemouth and striped bass, crappie and tilapia are found here, in one of Arizona's best fishing spots. We searched the state and found Lake Pleasant one of the best places to fish in Arizona for a variety of reasons, including the abundance of bass in its waters.
Many men and women angle from the beautiful shores of Lake Pleasant, but many more prefer to take a boat from the lake's only marina, Lake Pleasant Harbor to their favorite spot.

Known as one of the best places to fish in Arizona, Lake Pleasant has many hot spots of its own: Humbug Creek, Castle Creek and Cole's Wash are among them.
Whatever spot you choose and whether you're an avid fisherman or new to the hobby, your fishing trip will only be as impressive as the tools you use. When fishing for bass, especially in waters in warmer climates such as at Arizona's best fishing spots, it's important to anticipate where the fish will be, but also important to use the best lure.
The brand new Dyna-flex lure is a perfect addition to your tackle box, especially if you're heading to one of Arizona's best fishing spots. A test group has taken the research off your hands and found that the lure landed nine out of 10 strikes.
Like many of the best products in the world, Dyna-flex has a strong brand behind it. A Connecticut company called NGC Sports (www.ngcsports.com) created the Dyna-flex with a flexible tube and chain as opposed to a wire, since fish often bump the hard wire, moving the lure and hook away. The Dyna-flex is the world's only flexible spinner bait and comes in a variety of colors including black, white, orange peel, camouflage, purple passion and blue herring.
