The best walleye fishing in North America occurs here with catch rates three or four times higher than other locales, according to one local angler. The Missouri River system also provides opportunities for white and smallmouth bass in Lakes Oahe and Sharpe, Chinook salmon in Lake Oahe and the Cheyenne River and northern pike in Lake Oahe.
